During this appointment, Dr. Asfa will examine your moles and freckles, which are flat or raised growths on the skin. He will determine if any of them need to be removed or biopsied. BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow’s feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX® relaxes wrinkles and gives the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX® may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms.

Juvéderm® XC

Juvéderm® XC is an injectable gel that gently reverses many signs of aging in the face, including fine lines and wrinkles, crow’s feet, thinning lips and loosening skin. It can also “plump up” the lips, sculpt the cheeks, and restore a youthful oval shape to the face.

It is made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to give volume and support to the skin. Because it is non-animal-based and highly biocompatible, no pre-treatment testing is needed. Juvéderm comes in three formulas optimized for the depth of the area being treated. Results last about 6-9 months and can be made to last even longer with a simple follow-up treatment a few weeks after the initial injection.

Hylaform®

Hylaform® or hylan B gel is FDA-approved to temporarily reduce minor lines and wrinkles on the face by adding volume to the skin. Hylaform is made with purified hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in the body that works with collagen to keep the skin smooth and supple. Aging, exposure to sunlight and other factors cause the hyaluronic acid in our cells to break down.

Our skin loses volume, and lines and wrinkles appear. Hylaform injections replace those sugars and restore the skin to its youthful appearance. Frequently treated areas are the nasolabial (smile) lines, vertical lip lines, frown lines between the eyes, and marionette lines. No pre-treatment skin test is necessary. Treatments are quick and painless, and results are natural-looking and immediately visible. Effects last for a few months and then begin to fade as Hylaform is re-absorbed by the body.

Latisse®

Full, natural-looking eyelashes can now be achieved through a prescription treatment called Latisse®. Latisse is the first and only eyelash treatment approved by the FDA to help grow longer, fuller and darker eyelashes and treat hypotrichosis, a condition that includes having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.

This prescription medication is applied topically to the base of the eyelashes once a day, after makeup and contact lenses have been removed and any other skincare products have already been applied. While it does not replace mascara, Latisse offers an attractive complement to help further enhance full, long and beautiful lashes.

Are Laser Treatments Right for Me?

An initial consultation with Dr. Asfa is required prior to any laser treatments, so he can determine the best options for you based on your skin type and condition. Laser treatments are not suitable for everyone and may carry some risks. IPL/Laser treatments are not suitable when you have active infections, viral, fungal or bacterial diseases, inflammatory skin conditions, an active tan or skin cancer. Use of retinoids and/or AHA/BHA’s should be discontinued three days before treatment. The full list of risks and side effects will be thoroughly reviewed with you prior to treatment.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photorejuvenation

30-45 Minutes; includes cleansing and toning of treatment area(s)
IPL is a relatively quick treatment that visibly improves skin imperfections such as: pigmentation (such as age/sunspots, freckles and birthmarks), texture, and vascular imperfections. Overall skin appearance is also improved by stimulating collagen and elastic fiber production over a series of treatments. The Stellar M22 IPL with Optimal Pulse Technology enables our aestheticians to customize your treatment according to your skin type and desired results, with maximum safety. Certain skin concerns such as shallow pigmentation and age/sunspots can be cleared in as few as one to two treatments, but typically, two to six sessions (with 2-4 weeks in between each) are needed to achieve optimal results for most skin concerns.

IPL Acne Treatment

This IPL treatment greatly improves skin appearance by reducing acne while simultaneously treating redness and pigmentation. The unique Stellar M22 IPL technology utilizes light flashes over the treated areas, triggering a biochemical response to eliminate bacteria within the pores. IPL is a non-invasive solution on inflammatory acne with less collateral effects than oral medication.

ResurFX

This is a non-ablative fractional skin rejuvenation/resurfacing treatment with remarkable results for younger, healthier, glowing skin.  ResurFX stimulates deep collagen regeneration over a sequence of treatments and can also reduce/improve enlarged pores, scarring and stretch marks. Typically, about three sessions are needed to have visible improvement in skin texture and fine lines. Usually after just one treatment, there are noticeable changes in pore dimensions.

During this treatment, both IPL and ResurFX technologies are used to simultaneously address problems with skin pigmentation and texture. The IPL technology removes both unwanted pigmentation and blood vessels from the skin, while the ResurFX fractional laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastic fibers within the deeper layers of the skin. Stimulating new collagen production is the key to a more radiant, youthful looking skin.
