As a Board Certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Asfa has met very demanding requirements to sit for his written and oral board exams, and was critically evaluated for his knowledge, ethical standing and his safe and effective approach to multiple reconstructive and cosmetic surgery challenges. Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery is a qualification not easily obtained and is only awarded to surgeons like Dr. Asfa, who have had the highest level of training and education necessary for optimal results and patient satisfaction. Dr. Asfa has an extensive knowledge of the entire spectrum of plastic surgery and represents the specialty with the highest standards.
About Us
Initially established in Baltimore, MD, Asfa Plastic Surgery relocated to Harrisonburg, VA in 2008. Dr. Asfa was recruited to come to the area after the area’s sole plastic surgeon retired, and Rockingham Memorial Hospital needed a plastic surgeon who specialized in breast cancer reconstructions. Although Dr. Asfa wanted to remain in private practice, he was enthusiastic about the opportunity to bring his expertise to the Shenandoah Valley. With his decades of experience and compassionate manner, Dr. Asfa quickly became recognized as the region’s premier expert in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
In 2015, Dr. Asfa recognized the growing demand for medical aesthetic services and added a medical spa to his practice. In 2021 Dr. Asfa relocated Asfa Plastic Surgery to a newly renovated building in Rockingham, and expanded the spa, now known as Ziba Medical & Day Spa (link to spa site), which is recognized as the Valley’s premiere aesthetics center. The spa is staffed by an experienced, caring aesthetics team, who enjoy collaborating with Dr. Asfa to provide individualized treatment plans for adults and adolescents. As the region’s only medical spa with a plastic surgeon at the helm, we are able to provide the most advanced, clinically proven procedures and medical-grade skincare products and services.
Our Facility
Our beautiful 5000-square-foot building is conveniently located at 3302 Albert Long Drive in Rockingham, Virginia, right across from Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital. You can access our building via Reservoir Street to Albert Long Drive, or right off of Port Republic Road via Allen Lane (across from Walmart Neighborhood Market). Asfa Plastic Surgery has three elegant treatment rooms, including a large procedure room where Dr. Asfa performs minor surgeries and non-surgical aesthetic procedures. We have a spacious, comfortable waiting room, as well as a luxurious Relaxation Lounge which offers more privacy and comfort before or after an in-office procedure.
