Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is typically an in-office cosmetic procedure that creates fuller, more youthful-looking lips. There are different types of lip augmentation to fit your needs and goals. Some procedures are nonsurgical, using fillers to plump up the lips temporarily. Others involve small incisions in your lips or face for longer-lasting results.

Dr. Asfa performs several types of lip augmentation procedures.

  • Fat grafting (autologous fat injections or fat transfer): Dr. Asfa takes fat from another area of your body — commonly your stomach — purifies it and injects it into your lips. Fat grafting can last for up to five years.
  • Lip fillers: Dr. Asfa injects lip filler, also called a dermal filler, into your lips or around your mouth. Juvederm Volbella® XC is Dr. Asfa’s preferred dermal filler for lip augmentation. This injectable gel plumps the lips and corrects perioral lines in adults over the age of 21. Lip fillers can last for 6-12 months. • Lip flip: this is a cosmetic treatment involving a small amount of Botox or Xeomin injections performed by Dr. Asfa that can give the lips a more pouty look without adding volume. this is an ideal option for those who want a more subtle result than would be achieved by lip fillers. A lip flip lasts for 3-4 months. To learn about the full array of injectable treatments performed by Dr. Asfa, please click here.
  • Lip implants: Dr. Asfa makes a small incision in each corner of your mouth and inserts a silicone implant into your lips. Lip implants are a permanent solution, but they can be removed if the patient no longer wants them.
  • Lip lift: Dr. Asfa removes excess skin between your nose and upper lip (or the corners of your mouth) to pull up your lips. The results of lift lip surgery are permanent, but could always be revised in the future if the patient desires a different outcome
