Neck Lift

A Neck lift, or lower rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the jawline and neck, such as:

  • Excess fat and skin relaxation in the lower face that creates jowls
  • Excess fatty deposits under the chin such as a double chin or “turkey wattle”
  • Loose neck skin
  • Muscle banding in the neck that created abnormal contours

The loss of youthful contours in the face and neck can be due to many factors, including heredity, gravity, environmental conditions, stress or weight loss. Some patients feel they are not ready for a full facelift because the upper face is still pleasing, but they would like a smoother, more toned neck. Other patients opt for a full facelift with a neck lift. During your consultation with Dr. Asfa, he will examine you and discuss your aesthetic goals to determine the best facial rejuvenation procedures for you. In general, good candidates for a neck lift are healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing; non-smokers/non-vapers; and individuals with realistic expectations.  A neck lift does not change your fundamental appearance, is not guaranteed to last a lifetime, and will not stop the aging process.
